A sigh passed through her lungs out of habit as her slender, delicate fingers brushed over the stone chess pieces. The sun was shinning through the large windows. Alice had predicted this weather today and because of it she couldn't go to the mall, or school (but school was a joke anyway). The house seemed silent and Alice wasn't even completely sure anyone was home but then again where would everyone be on a day like this?
Alice's eyes danced back to the chess board. Everything was set up and ready for the next time her and Edward were to go at it again. That was always interesting. After playing a fast game against herself Alice stood and sat criss cross on the coach. Her motions looked like one, and she moved quickly. She held the remote in her hands and turned on the television. Nothing worth watching was on so the sounds of the news casters became background noise as Alice tipped her head back and shut her eyes. Today was going to be a long day.

She had known that this would become quite a boring day. After all what could they do when the sun shined. It wasn't like she could go out. That would be awkward, she thought about how her class mates would look at her when she glowed. Because that is what she did in the sun light. She glowed unlike the rest of her family who all sparkled. Jacob didn't do anything in the sun light, he should be very happy that he could go to town or to the mall or do anything where people where on days like these. Then again, how often did days like these happen in Forks. Rainiest place on earth.
So that morning she had slept in. Sleeping was something she liked to do. Rather then school anyway. She felt sorry for her aunts, uncle's and parents. She could only imagine how awfully boring it had to be for them. She had done her normal morning routine. Finding the cottage empty Nessie knew that her parents probably would be at the meadow. She was all alone, and that became boring after a while. She had sorted out her thoughts, now that her father wasn't there to read them.
She looked outside, Alice had said that it would be like this. Their own very personal weather station, and she was way more precise and correct. She wasn't going to sit around here by herself, she'd only die from boredom. So in a swift move she stood up on her feet and walked outside. She closed the door behind her. Her parents would find her, anyone who needed her would find her. She walked over to the main house, as she liked to call it. When she came in she saw her aunt on the couch. But Alice nine of ten had seen her coming anyway. "hey" she greeted her when she sat down and looked at the TV.

Alice's eyes had stayed closed as her body seemed to go into a shut down mode for a moment or two. Things were fuzzy, but readable in a way. She figured that it was the way humans saw things, but Alice found it frustrating. Nessie was going to come soon. Her eyes opened swiftly as she lifted her head and waited for her niece to walk through the door. Alice always treated Ness like the younger sister she ever had rather then a niece.
When the door opened and the young girl walked in Alice just smiled. "Hey." Nessie had said and Alice quickly responded. "Hello Nessie!" Her voice rang as the girl sat next to her."Are you bored too?" Alice said with little expression as she started flipping through the channels. Her mind wandered to Jasper for a few long moments... where was he today? She quickly let go of the thought and handed the remote to the girl beside her. "You can pick."

A few mere seconds after she had greeted her aunt she got the reply in the bell like voice she was used to. And as usual Alice knew why she was here and why she had come. There was no real surprise there."yea, and my parents are no where to be found nor is Jake" She comfortably leaned back on the couch. More listening to the television then looking at it. She never actually got how most people just kept looking at it. It always was the same, mostly reruns and commercials. Not exactly interesting.
She sighed once, she wondered why this place was so empty. That wasn't normal was it? She took her remote from her aunt and her fingers automatically pressed the numbers of one of the music channels. One of the few things that she actually did watch on the TV. "where is everybody?" she asked. After all Rosalie, Emmet, Carlisle, Esme, Jasper and Alice lived here didn't they. She found it a bit strange that she only found Alice. She might just be a little bit paranoia but she couldn't help it but think of Emma, and the whole as long as no one knows no one is in danger. She hadn't said anything.

Alice watched the child press the buttons that took the TV to the channel that played music. Alice smiled because it was the perfect thing at the moment. "Where is everybody?" Alice wasn't really sure. She shrugged and responded with "Hunting maybe?" Things were quiet when no one was around, but then again things were just as quiet when someone was around. It was the way life went.
Alice took a breath and held it. She desperately wanted to ask her where her and Bella had gone. The whole thing was unexpected and Alice knew that it was also crushing Edward that he couldn't know. Alice didn't want to bring up the subject.. maybe later. "Hey Ness, have you ever tried to curl your hair?" She asked shoving aside the tension that was building.

Hunting... It seemed possible. More then possible, logical even. She'd hunt with Jacob, rather that then eat human food. She absolutly hated it. She never got why they had even tried to give her that. She mentally shuddered at the thought of the baby formula that they had tried to feed her when she was a few days old. It smelled horrible. That part of her life however was over. No one could try to or force that on her. Not that she would have eaten it in the past but she certainly wouldn't do it now.
She noticed that her Aunt had stopped breathing for a second. There was tension in the air. You could almost taste it. She frowned for a second but then got a strait face again. "I think that you and Rosalie did it once. When i was a few months old." When Alice had came back from her trip to find the crucial witness. She and her other aunt had made a baby album that showed her like she had grown up like normal kids. She didn't mind though, it just had meant a few years of shopping and dressing up.

Now she was just thinking. Her mind wandered into her and Nessie's earlier conversation topic. Where was everyone? Hunting was an obvious solution but was she not invited? She could see nothing but that could be maybe because Nessie was so close by. It kind of gave her a headache that she learned to deal with. "I think that you and Rosalie did it once. When i was a few months old." Alice nodded and with a smile she jumped up off the couch.
"Well lets try again! I have a new curling iron in my room that could use a test run." Her bell like voice rang as she took her niece's hand and started quickly to Alice and Jasper's room.
Inside she had a huge closet with a chair like the ones at salon's. Alice sat Nessie down in the chair and plugged in the iron. She turned, her face casual as well as her tone as she spoke. "So where have you been, I haven't seen you in a while."

Her aunts enthusiasm was big. She might just be the one person in the world who could pull it off. in a blink of an eye she jumped of the couch and she seemed more then happy to be able to do that again. Not that Nessie minded. She loved doing stuff like this, though shopping might just be a little bit higher on her list.
She followed her aunt. And quite fast they where in Alice's and Jasper's room. She just sat down, there was no escape for her and she wouldn't want to either. But she still was rather surprised by the decoration, after all not everyone had a decoration like this one.
She looked at the Iron, Nessie herself wouldn't do something like that out of herself. She normally just let her hair be. It was easier that way. "You know that's because unlike the rest of the family i do need sleep." she didn't have all night to spend time with her family. She knew that that wasn't the answer that Alice was looking for though.

Alice loved her salon chair that just happened to be in her closet. All of her cloths were set aside (of course) on the other side of the tiny room. The red light on the iron finally turned green which meant that it was ready. "You know that's because unlike the rest of the family i do need sleep." Alice nodded an laughed. It wasn't the answer she was looking for, but she'd take it for now, and besides, if Edward knew she pressed for information she'd be in for a long and boring lecture about what not to do to Bella and Nessie. Alice wasn't about to let that happen.
Scanning the counter quickly for some heat protecting spray she grabbed the iron. Alice carefully separated pieces of hair, sprayed, then curled them into loose curls that hung a little below Nessie's shoulders. Alice smiled when she was almost done nearly five minutes later. "This looks amazing." She said aloud as she finished. "Done." She added proudly.

Alice seemed to drop the subject witch was good. Not that she wanted to keep anything from her family but she and her mother had decided that they wouldn't tell anyone. Witch was hard on both of them. Of course she wanted to let them know but she couldn't and therefor she wouldn't. She looked as Alice fist sprayed and then curled her hair. She had to admit Alice had a talent for this sort of things. She was quite sure that it would look amazing when Alice did and believed her in her word. Even though she hadn't looked in the mirror yet."Thanks Alice." She said. If it wasn't this sunny they could go shopping but this was good as well.
(brain dead sorry)
